Community Guidelines
Last updated: January 2026
Dinebees is not just an app—it is a community platform for real-world social dining. We are moderating physical interactions, not just digital ones. By using Dinebees, you agree to uphold these standards. We have a Zero Tolerance Policy for behavior that threatens the safety, financial integrity, or dignity of our members.

1. Objectionable Content & EULA Compliance
Zero Tolerance Policy
To ensure the safety of our ecosystem, we strictly enforce the following policies regarding User Generated Content (UGC) and behavior:
- No Hate Speech: Content promoting violence or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability is banned.
- No Harassment: Bullying, shaming, doxing, or malicious targeting of individuals.
- No Explicit Content: Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit material.
- No Illegal Acts: Promoting drugs, fraud, or violence.
1.1 Harassment & The "Stalking" Definition
We define harassment broadly, but specifically regarding Stalking, the following scenarios are strictly prohibited and result in an immediate permanent ban:
🚫 STALKING SCENARIO (STRICTLY PROHIBITED):
- Digital Stalking: Persistently messaging a user who has blocked you (via new accounts), or finding them on other social media platforms to continue unwanted contact after being rejected on Dinebees.
- Physical Stalking: Showing up at a venue where you know a user is dining without an invitation, following a user after a meetup, or waiting outside a venue for a user.
1.2 Mandatory Reporting & Action
Our community relies on vigilance. If you see a violation, you must report it immediately. Our safety team acts as your shield.
- Report: Use the "Report" button on any profile, post, or chat message.
- 24-Hour Review: Our safety team reviews all reports within 24 hours (often sooner).
- Consequence: Validated violations result in the immediate removal of content. Severe violations result in the user being permanently banned from the platform.
2. Dining Etiquette & Financial Integrity
Dining with strangers requires high trust. Breaching financial trust is an instant permanent ban.
2.1 The "Pay Your Share" Rule
Leaving a restaurant without paying your share is theft—from the restaurant and your tablemates.
CONSEQUENCE: Any verified report of a user "dine-and-dashing" or refusing to pay their fair share will result in an Immediate Permanent Ban and collaborative reporting to local authorities if necessary.
2.2 Bill Splitting Protocol
Unless the group explicitly agrees otherwise beforehand:
- Ordering: You pay for exactly what you ordered (plus tax/tip).
- Shared Items: If you partake in shared appetizers/drinks, you split that cost equally.
- Honesty: If you order expensive items (e.g., alcohol, steak), do not expect the bill to be split evenly among those who ordered salads. Volunteer to calculate your higher share.
2.3 Respecting Staff
How you treat service staff tells us everything about you. Rudeness, snapping fingers, or yelling at waiters is prohibited. We partner with these venues; disrespecting their staff jeopardizes our community's reputation.
3. Safety, Consent & The "Not a Dating App" Rule
3.1 Distinguishing Dining from Dating
Dinebees is a social dining platform, not a dating app. While connections happen, the primary pretext is platonic social dining.
THE RULE
"A yes to dinner is not a yes to anything else."
Unwanted romantic pursuit, persistent DMing after a rejection, or treating a group hangout as a "hunting ground" for dates is classified as harassment.
3.2 Safety & Sobriety Policies
- Sobriety Upon Arrival: You must arrive at the hangout sober. Showing up under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol is grounds for immediate removal and a permanent ban.
- Zero Tolerance for Drugs: Possession or consumption of illegal drugs at any Dinebees event is strictly prohibited.
- Alcohol Responsibility: If the venue serves alcohol, you are expected to maintain respectable behavior. Aggressive, loud, or inappropriate behavior due to intoxication will not be tolerated.
- Public Only: Never agree to change the venue to a private residence or secluded area.
- Transport: Arrange your own transportation. You are not obligated to accept rides from or give rides to strangers.
4. Reliability: The "No Ghosting" Policy
Time is our most valuable currency. Flaking on a reservation hurts the host, the restaurant, and the group vibe.
✅ ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
- Arriving 5-10 minutes early.
- Updating RSVP at least 24 hours in advance.
- Messaging the group chat if stuck in traffic.
❌ VIOLATIONS (STRIKABLE)
- No-Show: Ghosting completely.
- Late Cancellation: Canceling <4 hours before the event.
- Chronic Lateness: Arriving >15 minutes late without valid reason.
5. Privacy in Public
In the age of social media, we must respect the offline moment.
- Strict Photography Consent: Do not take photos or videos of fellow users without their explicit verbal consent.
- No Non-Consensual Posting: Posting photos or videos of other users on social media (Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) without their permission is a serious privacy violation and may result in a ban.
- Tagging: Ask before you tag someone's handle in an Instagram Story or post.
- Live Streaming: Live streaming a private conversation during a Dinebees hangout is prohibited.
6. Reporting & Enforcement
Our team actively moderates the platform to keep it safe. Since manual blocking is not yet available, our team acts as the ultimate safeguard.
6.1 How to Report
Reporting is the most effective way to alert us to violations:
- Navigate to the User's Profile or tap on the specific Chat Message.
- Tap the "Report" button.
- Select the reason (e.g., Harassment, No-Show, Objectionable Content).
- Provide details/screenshots if possible.
Email Reporting: For severe incidents or appeals, you can email us directly at contact@dinebees.com.
The 3-Strike System
Our enforcement is structured, but we reserve the right to ban immediately for severe violations.
- Strike 1 (Warning): For minor offenses (e.g., late cancellation, minor rudeness). Account may be restricted for 7 days.
- Strike 2 (Suspension): For repeated offenses or moderate violations. Account suspended for 30 days.
- Strike 3 (Permanent Ban): For severe violations or a third strike. Your device ID and phone number are permanently blacklisted.
Note: "Zero Tolerance" offenses (Hate Speech, Physical Threat, Financial Theft) skip the strike system and result in an immediate permanent ban.
